Parish review continues
Residents have just a few days left to submit their comments on the borough’s parish arrangements.
The consultation, which opened in November, invites individuals, parish councils and other stakeholders to have a say in how Test Valley’s parishes are governed. The Review gives local people the opportunity to have their views heard about where they believe parish arrangements should be changed. This could include the creation or abolition of parishes and parish councils, or changes to parish boundaries. Any changes brought about as a result of the review will be implemented in time for the parish and town council elections scheduled for May 2019.
Councillor Maureen Flood said: “This review is all about giving local people a democratic voice by telling us what works in their parishes and what doesn’t. We’ve received a number of comments and suggestions already; some with ideas about how to amend boundaries that better suit expanding communities, and others that ask us to leave things as they are. We’re starting from a completely blank canvas and will draw up recommendations based on responses from this first phase of public consultation. Please do get in touch if you’d like to have a say.”
