Calling local communities: have your say on shaping the future of Test Valley!

Test Valley Borough Council is about to begin its consultation with residents on the priorities for its new Corporate Plan for 2019 to 2023.

The authority is encouraging local residents and businesses to give their feedback on what they want the council to focus on over the next four years. The current Corporate Plan, Investing in Test Valley, is set to come to an end in 2019.

Councillors and council staff will be attending a wide variety of community events over the summer to speak to the public about their local priorities, including Andover Carnival and the Four Fun Fridays. The authority will also publish an online survey* on its website on Monday 18 June.

Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Councillor Phil North, said: “We are keen for residents to tell us what they would like the council to focus on over the next four years so we can build on the successes of the current Corporate Plan and ensure that Test Valley continues to be a great place for people to live, work and visit.

“Some of our achievements over the past four years include constructing a brand new leisure centre in Andover and improving the existing facilities in Romsey and Knightwood; enabling our residents to gain greater access to the countryside such as Fishlake Meadows; and developing the Andover Vision and Romsey Future initiatives with the local community. In addition we have supported local businesses through a variety of grants and exceeded our targets in providing new affordable homes.”

“If you see us at a local community event then please come and have a chat with us. Residents will also be able to give us their feedback through the online survey, so there will be plenty of opportunities for people to have their say.”

The consultation will run from Monday 18 June until Sunday 16 September. The council will consider the feedback from residents alongside statistical information, existing strategies and government policy to determine its aims and ambitions.
