Kingfisher Hampers – not just for fishing!

A Test Valley entrepreneur has launched a new business, Kingfisher Hampers, to provide picnic lunches to sporting enthusiasts in Hampshire and beyond.

Louise Horne from Monxton set up Kingfisher Hampers in April 2017 to provide picnic lunches for fly fishermen on the River Test. Within a few months, Louise was preparing hampers for other sporting events such as Lords, Wimbledon and the races. Her hampers contain a chilled and freshly prepared picnic lunch for two guests using locally sourced produce.

Amport ward member, Councillor Ben Few Brown, presented Louise with Test Valley Borough Council’s £750 Business Incentive Grant and said: “Louise’s idea is fantastic. She uses top quality food and the hampers look very professional. The business is ideal for Test Valley; it complements the River Test which is one of the borough’s finest assets. I wish her all the very best.”

Louise added: “I’d like to thank Test Valley Borough Council for the grant. It is a good incentive for new businesses like Kingfisher Hampers.  I’ve had a great first year in business with positive feedback from my clients and look forward to the new season commencing in April.

Louise has been certified with a food hygiene rating of 5.
