Health training company given £750 boost
An Andover woman who has set up a health and social care training company in the heart of the town centre has received a £750 boost from Test Valley Borough Council.
Melonie Raines specialises in health and social care, including first aid, for all different types of company.
Melonie’s new business, RMT Training Solutions, will be servicing care homes as well as care agencies and is based in the High Street.
Melonie added: “I’m really excited to push on with my new business and I’m immensely grateful for the advice and financial boost from the council. Many thanks go to my ward councillor Iris Andersen who recommend this grant to me in the first place. I look forward to the next few weeks and months!”
Councillor David Drew said: “These grants are offered to help people just like Melonie to progress their business from the early stages where we offer as much support as we can. It’s fantastic that councillor Andersen told Melonie about our grant, and even better that we can support her in this way.”
The council’s Business Incentive Grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Anyone who successfully applies for the grant will receive a grant of £750 if their business is still going strong six months later.
These funds have become available to the community as a consequence of the council’s prudent investments, financial management and use of the New Homes Bonus.
