Mayor of Test Valley congratulates Hampshire-based Tonic Analytics for receiving prestigious Queen’s Award
Tonic Analytics, a data analytics company based at the University of Southampton Science Park, has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise – for International Trade.
The Queen’s Award celebrates the success of innovative businesses that are leading the way with pioneering products or services. The Mayor of Test Valley was recently invited to celebrate the success of Tonic Analytics in receiving such an esteemed award, along with the Test Valley Borough councillors for Chilworth and Nursling Ward. Councillors Mike Maltby and Cllr Philip Bundy were also able to attend this celebration of business excellence. The award was presented by the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson Esq in a small, socially distanced ceremony.
Tonic Analytics is a small technology company, made up of ten employees and provides data analytics to clients focusing on delivering good outcomes for society. Examples include improving road safety, air safety and crime reduction.
The University of Southampton Science Park has a long standing relationship with Test Valley Borough Council. The council has been instrumental in supporting young companies associated with Southampton Science Park and has provided financial support of £20,000 to fund the latest two rounds of the organisation’s Catalyst Accelerator Programme, which supports the commercialisation of technology start-ups. It was this programme that first brought Tonic Analytics to the Southampton Science Park as a start-up in 2015.
The Mayor of Test Valley, councillor Mark Cooper said “I would like to congratulate Tonic Analytics for their achievement in receiving the Queen’s Award, it was wonderful to be able to celebrate with them at the award presentation. This really is a testament to how significant the work at the Southampton Science Park is and how important it is that we continue to support local science and technology start-ups in the future.”
Andy Dollin, Chief Operating Officer at Tonic Analytics added: “This prestigious Queen’s Award represents a major milestone for us. After first coming to Southampton Science Park as a start-up on the Catalyst business acceleration programme, we have seen our technology and services used by customers around the world, gained ISO accreditations and transitioned to an Employee Ownership Trust. This award recognises our achievements to date and positions us for further growth in a post-Brexit, post-pandemic world, and we look forward to extending our reach and capabilities in the years to come.”
