Second Sundays is coming – market in your diaries!
A brand new monthly street market supporting emerging and established independent traders is coming to Andover next month, showcasing some of the very best talent the region has to offer.
Launching Sunday 12 June 2022, Second Sundays brings together seasonal food and drink producers, designer-makers and artists alongside street food, craft drinks, workshops and music on the second Sunday of every month in Andover High Street.
The inaugural Second Sundays is curated by HemingwayDesign on behalf of Test Valley Borough Council as part of a new event programme for the town. Second Sundays will feature hand thrown ceramics, plants, clothing, homewares, local fresh produce, and street food.
Wayne Hemingway from HemingwayDesign, said: “Second Sundays is the next stage of the activation of Andover’s town centre masterplan. Andover and the surrounding towns and villages are packed with talent – designing, making, cooking, crafting and brewing. The aim of Second Sundays is to bring together the best of Hampshire and the South West, with something for everyone.”
Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Councillor Phil North, added: “We’ve got some really good markets in the town already and they’ll be continuing, but Second Sundays will offer something completely new and totally different for Andover. And it’s great to have HemingwayDesign on board, who have set up and run some of the most successful markets and events in the country. We hope it will appeal to both the seasoned locals and also those who perhaps wouldn’t normally think to shop in the town by bringing something totally fresh to the area.”
