Abbotswood pulls out all the stops for a cracking Christmas celebration

Families in Abbotswood enjoyed a sleigh-load of festive fun on Saturday 13 December thanks to a free Christmas Family Fun Day organised by Abbotswood Community Association (ACA) with an extra boost from a £1,000 councillor community grant from Cupernham ward.

The event at Abbotswood Community Centre brought neighbours together for an afternoon packed with activities, including festive arts and crafts, a magic show, disco and games, face painting, and even a visit to Santa’s grotto where children received gifts. Refreshments were on hand to keep everyone warm and cheerful.

ACA runs seasonal events throughout the year to help people connect, make friends and feel part of a strong and inclusive community. This Christmas celebration was no exception, offering families the chance to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon without worrying about cost.

Councillor Janet Burnage attended the event. She said; “Seeing families come together and enjoy such a welcoming event was fantastic. The team at Abbotswood Community Association put so much effort into creating something special for everyone. It’s a great example of how local groups help build strong, connected communities, and we’re pleased to support that.”

ACA’s commitment to free, accessible activities means everyone can join in, and the Christmas Fun Day was a perfect example of how local groups help build vibrant, connected communities.
