Discover future plans for the South of Romsey Town Centre

Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC) has shared updated plans for the future of the South of Romsey Town Centre – a key gateway into Romsey that includes the area around Crosfield Hall and the bus station.

The plans have been shaped by years of community input, including two Citizens’ Assemblies, public consultations, and design workshops.

At the heart of the plans is a new community facility and extra car parking, which is designed to meet Romsey’s needs now and in the future.

TVBC has launched a new online platform which sets out:

  • the journey so far
  • the options explored and why
  • the preferred plan and what happens next

Visit https://testvalley.govocal.com/en-GB/projects/sortc-introduction to view the plans and share reflections, ideas or concerns about what you want the council to consider when they move into the designing phase.

Leader of the council, Councillor Phil North, said: "Romsey is a town full of character and community spirit, and these plans reflect the ideas and priorities local people have shared with us over the years. I, along with the Romsey councillors, are proud to present a vision that supports Romsey’s future.”

Cllr Neil Gwynne, leader of the opposition, added: "This is an important moment for Romsey. There has been a lot of community input up to this point and it’s vital that residents continue to have their say as we move forward. I encourage everyone to take a look at the plans and share their views.”

As part of this engagement, Test Valley Borough Council will be holding a drop-in exhibition at Romsey Town Hall on Thursday 6 November from 3pm to 7pm, where residents can ask questions and speak to the team behind the ideas.

In addition to this work there are other plans for the town next year. This will include looking at the opportunity for improving leisure and community uses at the Romsey sports centre, how we can make even better uses for our car parks, and how we can provide more accessible green spaces for the people that live and visit the town.
