Photography business Jamie Shoots captures success with council grant

Andover-based photographer Jamie Shoots has received a £750 Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council to support the growth of his new business.

Earlier this year Jamie Hyndman took the leap to go full time self-employed, pursuing a dream of becoming a wedding photographer and filmmaker. What began as a hobby 10 years ago has grown into a thriving business.

He said: "I’m incredibly grateful to Test Valley Borough Council for awarding me the Business Incentive Grant. I’ve used the £750 to invest in a new memory card for my camera, which will make a big difference as I continue to grow my business.

“There’s nothing more rewarding for me than capturing the most important, emotional, and chaotic moments of a couple’s wedding day, and turning them into a beautiful gallery or cinematic short film they can treasure forever.

”I’m really excited for the year ahead, as my wedding calendar is quickly filling up. Alongside weddings, I also run a creative agency during the week, producing video and photo content for local businesses."

Councillor Linda Lashbrook, who represents the Charlton and the Pentons ward, said: “Jamie’s story shows what can happen when someone takes a leap and follows their passion. We’re proud to support him through the Business Incentive Grant and look forward to seeing his business continue to grow.”

The Business Incentive Grant is available to new businesses based in Test Valley that apply within eight weeks of starting to trade. The grant is awarded once the business has been running for at least six months.
