Mamba awarded £1,200 grant to support future plans in Andover
A popular Andover venue has been awarded a £1,200 Independent Retailer Grant from Test Valley Borough Council to support its continued growth in the town centre.
Mamba, based on London Street in Andover has been steadily building its business, attracting customers with regular Friday and Saturday night events. The venue has ambitious plans for the future, including expanding its daytime offer through regular events and potentially introducing food in the near future.
Wendy Taylor, General Manager of Mamba Andover, said: “We are incredibly grateful for this grant, which helps us continue investing in Andover’s vibrant night time economy. Our vision for Mamba has always been to provide a safe, premium final destination for people to socialise and dance. We’ve worked hard to create an inclusive environment where a wide age group can come together, enjoy great music, and celebrate our town's late night culture safely and responsibly."
St Mary's Ward Councillor Iris Andersen said: “Mamba has quickly become a valued part of Andover's town centre and night-time economy. It is encouraging to see local businesses investing in our communities and creating welcoming spaces for residents and visitors alike. We are pleased to support Mamba through the Independent Retailer Grant and look forward to seeing the business continue to grow and develop its offer in the months ahead.”
The Independent Retailer Grant is part of the council’s ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses and encouraging economic growth across the borough. It provides £1,200 in two tranches, after a minimum of three months and nine months of trading, to businesses moving into empty ground floor town centre premises.
