New independent emporium opens its doors in Andover town centre

A new independent shopping destination has opened in the Chantry Centre, bringing together more than 100 makers, creators and small businesses in a single retail space.

Lovely Finds Emporium officially opened on Saturday 17 October, giving shoppers a new place to discover unique products, thoughtful gifts and one-of-a-kind finds from independent businesses across the region and beyond.

Founded by local business owner Louise Tucker, the new store has been created to help independent businesses access affordable retail space while giving people something new to discover in Andover town centre.

Many of the makers featured in the emporium are familiar faces from the Chantry Centre's indoor market and Andover's Second Sundays market, providing a new opportunity for established market traders and small businesses to reach customers from a permanent town centre base.

The store was officially opened by councillors Iris Andersen and Debbie Cattell, who joined Louise for a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by traders, customers and supporters.

Louise Tucker, founder of Lovely Finds, said: "Having run my own handmade gift business, I know first-hand the challenges small businesses can face when trying to reach new customers. Creating Lovely Finds has given me the chance to support other makers while bringing something unique to Andover.

"It's wonderful to bring so many businesses together in one place, and I can't wait to welcome people through the doors and see what catches their eye."

Councillor Iris Andersen, ward member for Andover St Mary’s, said: "Lovely Finds is a wonderful addition to the Chantry Centre and a great showcase for independent businesses. It's fantastic to see so many talented makers and traders growing their presence in Andover town centre."

Councillor Debbie Cattell, ward member for Andover St Mary’s, added: "This is exactly the kind of business that helps create a vibrant and varied town centre. Lovely Finds gives shoppers something new to discover while supporting independent businesses to thrive."

The opening is the latest addition to the growing mix of retailers in the Chantry Centre and reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen Andover town centre by supporting local enterprise, increasing footfall and creating a diverse shopping experience for residents and visitors.
