The Development Plan includes Development Plan Documents (DPD) and Neighbourhood Development Plans (NDP). At present, the Development Plan comprises:

Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) provide additional guidance on detailed issues linked to policies in the Development Plan. Whilst they do not form part of the Development Plan, they are used in the determination of planning applications. SPDs are also produced by Hampshire County Council.

National planning policy is an important consideration in preparing the Development Plan and determining planning applications. This includes the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). Links are provided below to key national planning policy and guidance documents.

There may also be other national policy or strategies that can be material considerations, such as the South Inshore and South Offshore Marine Plan.
